After considerable thought, I have decided to discontinue my website as I no longer have a studio in St. George’s Bermuda.
I would like like to thank all the people who have supported my adventure into mosaics by attending workshops, parties or purchasing mosaics from me.
Going forward mosaic experiences will be held at different venues and on request, such as schools, galleries, homes or as requested.
I will continue to post information about up coming classes on Facebook on the Pieceworks Mosaic Art Page.
Many thanks for a wonderful experience. I’ve enjoyed it all.
It’s back to school this month … me included, as I make my way back to Ravenna, Italy (the city of mosaics) to study mosaics, Byzantine style!
The studio will be closed until mid October.
Please check back here for an update.😄
Seasons Greetings to all,
The excitement of Christmas is over and now we look forward to bringing in the New Year.
Students have another week or so to enjoy time with family and friends. Pieceworks will be filled with their joy and creativity on January 5th and January 6th. The 1:00 p.m time slots are taken but the 3:30 slots are still available.. If you are interested in bringing a small group, please email Donna at firstname.lastname@example.org. All ages are welcome. No experience needed. Just bring a smile and join me at my studio….my happy place!
Pieceworks will be closed from May 31st – June 16th but I will be staying in touch via email.
Look forward to seeing you when I return 🙂
Ever since I was a child, it was the smell of a Christmas Tree that made my Christmas! My husband proposed to me on Christmas Day, by the Christmas tree….and every year, we celebrate it with our extended family, reminding me of the most important thing in my life…family! So, it’s no wonder that my favourite mosaic to create is a ……..Christmas Tree. This one is made of stained glass, wispy green, textured amber and accented with red glitter glass tiles. The border is maple irido glass tiles.
May the joy of Christmas be yours throughout the New Year. God Bless!
This month, I feel like one of Santa’s elves…..busy nipping away at glass creating mosaics for two craft fairs! The first is at Masterworks, 16th Nov. and the second is at Bda. Underwater Exploration Institute on the 23rd Nov. At these venues, I will have the usual frames, mirrors, candle holders and wall plaques as well as the poplular micro-mosaic pendants. New this year will be large silver plated pendants with vibrant glitter glass, purse holders and keychains!
Hope you can make time to drop by Masterworks and/or BUEI to see the wonderful work from so many creative folks on our little island.
Pet portraitures (artistic representations of animals) in stained glass are in progress at the studio as well. Currently, I am working on a dachshund 🙂
Below is a portraiture created earlier this year….Bailey, the labrador 🙂
If you are in St. G…..please do stop in to say ‘hi’.
October…..Halloween, black cats, pumpkins, costumes and a break from school! Pieceworks will be holding Halloween Themed Workshops the week of October 26- Nov. 1st. This feline wall hanging is made of recycled glass tile and stained glass with a touch of glitter tile for the eye. Inspiration for this mosaic…other than Halloween was our family cat, Buddy who used to play ‘hide and seek’ with our sons when they were young!!!
Email me at email@example.com to reserve a spot for your child and friends….and create a Halloween mosaic. Have a happy and safe Halloween!
